What You Need to Lease a Car in Dubai
Two documents, no credit check, an answer in 24 hours. Below is the complete list of what we ask for, what we do not, and what actually stands behind the agreement instead of a bank. 53 cars available now.
What we ask for
A valid Emirates ID
It proves who you are and that you are a resident. An Emirates ID is not issued without a residence visa, so we do not ask for the visa separately.
A valid UAE driving licence
The car is registered in the UAE and driven here for 12 to 36 months. A home-country licence or an international permit does not cover that.
A down payment
It is not a fee — it counts as your first payment and it is part of what stands behind the deal. The size depends on the car and the term you pick.
What we do not ask for
- An AECB credit report or a credit score of any kind
- A salary certificate or proof of income
- Six months of bank statements
- A salary transfer to a particular bank
- A guarantor or a company sponsor
- A separate copy of your residence visa
What stands behind the agreement instead of a credit check
A bank lends money and needs to know you will repay it, so it reads your history. We do not lend money — we buy a car and lease it to you. The vehicle stays registered to Drive Your Dream for the whole term, and your down payment sits on top of that. Those two things are our cover, which is why your credit file is not part of the decision, and why the lease never appears in it.
Who this usually matters to
New residents
You can have a perfect credit record at home and none at all here. We approve from day one of your visa, any nationality.
Freelancers and the self-employed
Irregular income reads badly to a credit committee. We look at the car and the down payment instead.
Business owners
Capital stays in the business rather than frozen in a car purchase.
Anyone who has been declined before
A past rejection sits in your AECB file for years. We do not open that file.
What you pay, and when
Monthly
A fixed payment for the car. Post-dated cheques or a standing order — both are accepted, so a cheque-free path exists.
Once a year
Insurance, registration and paperwork as one renewal fee: 5% of the vehicle value, minimum AED 8,000.
Ongoing, as with any car
Fuel, Salik and any fines. Mileage allowance is 25,000 km a year; 35,000 and 50,000 km packages are available.

Requirements — FAQ
What documents do I need to lease a car in Dubai?
Two: a valid Emirates ID and a valid UAE driving licence. There is no salary certificate, no bank statement, no AECB credit report and no separate visa copy — an Emirates ID is not issued without a residence visa, so it already proves your status.
Do you check my credit score?
No. Drive Your Dream does not query the Etihad Credit Bureau. We assess the application ourselves, and the lease does not appear in your AECB file, because it is not a loan.
What stands behind the deal if there is no credit check?
The car itself and your down payment. The vehicle stays registered to Drive Your Dream for the whole term — we are the owner until the final payment — and the first payment you make is the rest of our cover. That is why we can approve people a bank would not.
Do I need a UAE driving licence, or is my home licence enough?
A UAE licence is required. A home-country licence or an international permit is not sufficient for a lease of this length — the car is registered here and driven here for 12 to 36 months.
How long does approval take?
Most applications are answered within 24 hours. There is no bank credit committee in the chain. After approval, handover usually happens within 1 to 3 business days.
How do the monthly payments actually leave my account?
Either post-dated cheques or a standing order from your bank — both are accepted, so there is a path that does not involve writing cheques at all. Tell us which you prefer before signing.
What does the monthly payment not cover?
Insurance, registration and paperwork are billed separately once a year as a single renewal fee: 5% of the vehicle value, minimum AED 8,000. Fuel, Salik and fines are yours, as with any car. The mileage allowance is 25,000 km a year, with 35,000 and 50,000 km packages available.
Can I be refused?
Yes. We look at every application individually, and we would rather decline than sign someone into payments that will not work. If the numbers do not fit, we will say so and suggest a cheaper car in the fleet.
