Documents Needed to Lease a Car in Dubai (Complete List)

To lease a car with Drive Your Dream, you need exactly two documents:

1. Valid Emirates ID — front and back, not expired 2. Valid UAE driving licence — front and back, current and active

That's it. No employer letter, no NOC from your company, no utility bills, no guarantor letter, no bank reference. Your residence visa is not a separate item on the list: an Emirates ID is only issued to residents, so a valid ID already covers it. If you have those two documents, you can apply.

We do not ask for proof of income at any point. There is no salary certificate, no payslips, no three or six months of bank statements, no trade licence, no freelance permit and no minimum salary. We also don't require WPS registration or a salary transfer to a particular bank.

That isn't a check we quietly skip — it's a check we don't need, because the deal is secured by the car rather than by paperwork. The vehicle stays registered to the company for the whole term, and you put in a down payment from 20% at the start. Those two things do the work that a folder of income documents does at a bank.

We still make a decision on every application, and we make it ourselves. But being self-employed, newly arrived, between jobs or paid from outside the UAE doesn't move you into a separate queue with extra documents to collect — the list stays the same two.

Here's what banks typically require that we do NOT:

• ❌ AECB credit check or credit score • ❌ 6 months of salary transfer history • ❌ Employer NOC (No Objection Certificate) • ❌ Bank reference letter • ❌ Guarantor or co-signer • ❌ Utility bills or tenancy contract • ❌ Minimum salary threshold • ❌ Letter from HR on company letterhead • ❌ WPS (Wage Protection System) registration

Do I need a UAE driving license to apply?

Yes. A valid UAE driving licence is one of the two documents we ask for, alongside your Emirates ID. If your licence conversion is still in progress, you're welcome to talk to us and pick a car in the meantime — the lease itself is signed once the licence is issued.

What if my visa is about to expire?

What we check is that your Emirates ID is valid on the day you apply. An Emirates ID is issued against your residence visa, so if both are being renewed, apply once the new Emirates ID is in hand.

Can someone else apply on my behalf?

The lease must be in the name of the person who will be driving. Power of attorney arrangements are not supported for lease applications.
